Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 August 2026

Screen + Camera Recorder (“the extension”) is a browser tool for recording your screen and camera. This policy explains what it accesses and what happens to your data. In short: your recordings stay on your device unless you personally choose to upload one, and the developer does not collect, receive, store, or sell any of your data.

What the extension accesses

All capture, compositing, trimming, and MP4 conversion happen locally in your browser. Recordings are held in your browser’s memory/local storage and are never sent to the developer or any third party.

Google Drive (optional)

If you choose “Create shareable link,” the extension asks you to sign in with Google and requests the drive.file permission. This is the narrowest Drive scope: the extension can only access files it creates (your uploaded recordings and the “Screen Recordings” folder it makes). It cannot see, read, or modify any other files in your Google Drive.

Uploaded videos go to your own Google Drive under your Google account. Sharing is performed by you through the extension (setting “anyone with the link can view”). The developer never receives your Google account, your files, or your links.

Data the developer collects

None. There are no analytics, no tracking, no telemetry, no external servers, and no advertising. The extension has no backend.

Your control

You can revoke Google Drive access anytime at myaccount.google.com/permissions, and remove the extension at any time to stop all access.
